Visit to the Marble Quarries
The marble quarries have been the economic and social hub of the Apuan territory for at least two millennia. Corchia Park offers the opportunity to visit some of these stone cathedrals, carved into the white marble heart of the mountain.

As soon as you arrive at the quarry, you’ll put on a safety helmet and step into a world unlike any other—vast marble chambers, towering walls, and an almost surreal silence. Visiting a marble quarry is a powerful and awe-inspiring experience, one that will take your breath away from the very first moment.
Here, everything exceeds human scale: ceilings rising tens of meters high, vast open spaces, monumental blocks, and powerful excavation machinery weighing up to 80 tons. It’s an extraordinary environment that conveys both the raw power of the mountain and the impressive scale of human endeavor.
The Versilia quarries are truly one of a kind, thanks to their unique setting—they’re the only marble quarries overlooking the sea. From up here, the views are nothing short of spectacular: on the clearest days, you can see as far as the French Alps, across to Corsica, and down to Mount Amiata in southern Tuscany.

4X4 ADVENTURE + VERSILIA SUNSET DINNER AT ALTITUDE
A memorable experience that blends the thrill of exploring the quarry with the pleasure of sharing a sunset dinner high above the coast.
Departure is at 6:00 PM. After the quarry tour, the journey continues with a scenic stop at a panoramic terrace along the road, just opposite the entrance to the Antro del Corchia Cave. Here, you’ll enjoy a tasting of local specialties paired with wine aged inside the cave, all set against a breathtaking natural backdrop and a spectacular sunset over the coastline.

A roughly two-hour quarry tour, departing from and returning to the village of Levigliani.
To reach the quarry, you’ll travel in restored Italian Army 4×4 vehicles, now repurposed for civilian use. It’s a truly authentic and off-the-beaten-path experience, winding through mountain roads, breathtaking views, and places unlike anywhere else.
