Where to eat in Levigliani

Levigliani and Alta Versilia, in general, are a treasure trove of gastronomic delights and ancient traditional recipes. The area is famous for its marble-aged lard, tordelli, and recipes based on mushrooms and chestnuts.

To offer our visitors only the finest local gastronomy, we rely on the skilled hands of the town’s restaurateurs. We offer homemade stuffed pasta, mushrooms and chestnuts from our mountains, locally produced artisanal cured meats, and a strong desire to create lunches and dinners that become unforgettable memories.

In Levigliani, portion sizes are designed to satisfy the hunger of quarry workers; you will never leave hungry!

Ristorante Raffaello

At Raffaello Restaurant, there is only one universal rule: all pasta is homemade! This historic establishment is renowned for its handmade tordelli and its first courses featuring meat and mushroom sauces, as well as its roasts and stewed game. At Raffaello Restaurant, you’ll find a wine cellar that meets all demands, offering a wide selection that fully covers all the iconic realities of Tuscan wine production. Noteworthy is also the selection of desserts, all meticulously homemade by Margherita, the restaurant’s pastry chef.

Ristorante Vallechiara

A historic local establishment, the Ristorante Vallechiara is a legendary destination for speleologists from all over Italy. For decades, the Vallechiara Restaurant has been serving typical Versilian cuisine to anyone arriving hungry, even after the normal closing hours of other venues. It became famous as a gathering spot for speleologists who, after exploring the Antro del Corchia, rewarded themselves with a hearty dinner to regain their spent energy. Today, Ivano, the host of the restaurant, offers traditional dishes and has recently devoted himself to the historical research of local recipes. It’s hard to visit Vallechiara for the first time and not immediately feel like part of the family!

Pizzeria ortali

The pizzeria is located right in the center of Levigliani, in the small Ortali square, opposite the CorchiaPark ticket office. Open only during the summer season, it offers pizzas and focaccias baked in a wood-fired oven. The house specialty is pizza with marble-aged lard and fresh tomatoes: a great tribute to the most classic of Apuan Alps products.

L'OSTERIA

Open at all hours, specializing in meat cooked in a wood-fired oven, the Osteria di Levigliani is located at the end of the village. It offers a wonderful setting, surrounded by greenery, where you can sit and enjoy a steak or a platter of typical products from the Apuan Alps. The staff welcomes travelers and food enthusiasts at any time of day: it’s never the wrong time for a steak or a snack of ham and pecorino cheese. Wine lovers will certainly not be disappointed by the selection of bottles. The wine cellar, personally curated by Daniela Pierini, features a variety of local and interesting labels, even beyond the most famous names, waiting to be discovered and enjoyed.
